Traveling in old fashioned style.
Collecting antique motor scooters is a fun hobby. Expensive, yes, but fun. If you enjoy busted knuckles and grease under your fingernails, scooter collecting may be right for you. Just look at what I have sitting in my shop. That's a 60-year-old, cast iron motor scooter engine that I recently had professionally rebuilt. I am in the process of putting it into my 1947 Cushman, which is a year younger than the engine.
This engine was intended for my 1946 Cushman, but that project seems to be stalled for the time being. The original engine in the '47 needs work, so I took it out, and since the picture was made, I have placed this engine in the scooter. I have installed the clutch, and all I need to do now is hook up the gas line and connect some wires.
The I'll be ready to ride.
